Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reportedly issued strong remarks regarding the ongoing Middle East tensions, warning that if diplomatic efforts fail, Turkey could consider military action against Israel, according to international media reports.
Speaking on the regional situation, Erdoğan compared Israel’s policies on Palestinian prisoners to historical persecution, saying there was “no difference” between Israel’s decision to impose capital punishment on Palestinian detainees and Nazi-era anti-Jewish policies.
He further stated that applying the death penalty exclusively to Palestinians would turn the legal system into an instrument of “racist fascism.”
In his remarks, Erdoğan also referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, drawing controversial historical comparisons and accusing Israel of continuing military operations even during ceasefire periods, including reported strikes in Lebanon.
The Turkish president said Israel had caused large-scale civilian casualties in Gaza, claiming that approximately 72,000 civilians have been killed, with a majority being women and children. He also referenced the humanitarian toll of regional conflicts, noting the prolonged war in Syria and its impact on women and children.
Regarding Lebanon, Erdoğan stated that Israeli attacks on residential areas since March 2 had displaced around 1.2 million people. He further claimed that more than 1,500 people were killed and 4,700 injured in these strikes.
He added that on the day a ceasefire was announced, 254 Lebanese civilians were allegedly killed in renewed violence, describing the situation as part of what he called a “network of genocide” targeting civilians, particularly women and children.
The Turkish president also warned that Israel should “be shown its place,” adding that Turkey could enter Israel “as it has done in Libya and Karabakh,” according to his statement.
