China has called for an immediate ceasefire and renewed diplomatic engagement following rising tensions in the Middle East and reports that the United States has postponed planned strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure for negotiations.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks during a regular press briefing on Tuesday, responding to media questions regarding the evolving situation.
Lin said prolonged conflict serves no party’s interest and stressed that ceasefire and dialogue remain the only viable path toward de-escalation and lasting peace.
He expressed concern over the continued escalation and potential spillover effects of the conflict, warning that the situation poses serious risks to both regional and global stability.
China urged all relevant parties to exercise restraint, avoid further military escalation, and return to negotiations as soon as possible in order to prevent further deterioration of the security environment.
