A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in two cases linked to the Haqiqi Azadi March.
Senior Civil Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti conducted the hearing. The written order, released a day after the proceedings, stated that Gandapur had failed to appear before the court despite being summoned multiple times.
The court noted that Gandapur’s continuous absence left no option but to issue arrest warrants. It then adjourned the case until January 5.
The two cases were registered at the Bhara Kahu police station. Several senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) figures, including the party’s founder, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Zartaj Gul, have already been acquitted in both cases.
