LAHORE (Lord Media): National cricketers are now required to play paddle sports during extended training camps, as the National Cricket Academy has introduced this facility. Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed, stated that playing paddle sports enhances players’ fitness, eliminating the need for them to travel far.
Aaqib Javed further mentioned that it is mandatory for players to engage in paddle sports every other day during long camps, with sessions lasting up to 40 minutes. This activity is expected to improve fielding skills as well.
He revealed that the plan also includes basketball courts, which will benefit the cricketers. Additionally, a game room featuring snooker and other games is being constructed for the players.
Aaqib Javed emphasized that athletes worldwide participate in various sports, not just their primary game, to gain multiple benefits.
