ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): Significant irregularities have been uncovered in the computerization of arms licenses. An audit revealed that during the digitization process, 9,291 suspicious licenses were issued.
According to the audit report, the number of arms licenses computerized by NADRA exceeded those issued by the Ministry of Interior. The report stated that 44,250 prohibited bore licenses were computerized, whereas the actual number of issued licenses was only 36,497.
Furthermore, over 186,000 arms licenses were computerized, out of which 10,464 were later declared fake. There was an additional discrepancy of 7,753 in prohibited bore licenses.
The administration has acknowledged the audit objections regarding severe irregularities in the arms license records and has called for investigations to identify those responsible.
