ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The Supreme Court has issued notices to the prosecutor and other parties regarding the bail application of Mahrang Baloch, Bebo, and Bee Burg Baloch. The hearing was conducted by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
During the hearing, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar inquired whether separate FIRs were filed against the three accused. Lawyer Jibran Nasir informed the court that separate FIRs have indeed been registered against each of his clients.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar further questioned the nature of the case and the progress of the trial. The lawyer stated that in Mahrang Baloch’s case, statements from 2 out of 6 witnesses have been recorded. All sections in the FIR are bailable.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked on the need to read the FIR first, questioning how these sections could be bailable. Lawyer Jibran Nasir responded that sections with punishments of 3 years or less are bailable. All charges against Mahrang Baloch carry sentences of less than 3 years.
After hearing the arguments, the court issued notices to the prosecutor and other parties, adjourning the hearing indefinitely.
