PESHAWAR (Lord Media): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released a total of 80.7 billion rupees for ongoing development projects under the Annual Development Programme 2026-27. According to the Secretary of Finance, 40% of the allocated funds for development projects have been disbursed in one go, while funds for new projects will be released after their approval.
Kamran Ahmed Afridi stated that the release of substantial funds for development projects is a testament to the province’s financial stability. A total of 61 billion rupees have been allocated for various projects in settled districts, including roads, irrigation, urban development, and local government projects.
The Finance Department reported that 11 billion rupees have been released under the Accelerated Development Programme for merged districts, which includes 7.9 billion rupees under the ADP. In the merged districts, 2.3 billion rupees have been allocated for roads, 1.2 billion rupees for health, and 1 billion rupees for education.
The Secretary of Finance further revealed that 1.9 billion rupees have been released for primary and secondary education, 4.5 billion rupees for health, and 1.7 billion rupees for law and order. Funds have also been allocated for various projects aimed at the development of merged districts.
