KARACHI (Lord Media): Unknown motorcycle assailants hurled a cracker at a Jamaat-e-Islami under-construction building near Juma Mosque in Lyari’s Phool Pati Lane, injuring three party workers.
According to police, the attackers fled the scene after the incident, spreading panic in the area. The injured were immediately taken to Civil Hospital, where they were identified as Abdul Baqi, Hussain, and Ghulam Mustafa.
Police have sealed the site and called in the crime scene unit and bomb disposal squad. DIG South Asad Raza stated that initial investigations suggest involvement of the motorcyclist in the incident.
Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Muneem Zafar Khan condemned the attack, demanding the immediate arrest and severe punishment of the culprits. He reiterated the party’s stance against all forms of terrorism.
