ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): Pakistan has condemned the Houthi ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, reiterating its full support for the kingdom’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Addressing an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting on the Middle East (Yemen) situation, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative Usman Jadoon stated that Pakistan supports Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy to reduce escalating tensions in the region.
Usman Jadoon further mentioned that sustainable peace in Yemen is only possible through an inclusive political process. The Yemeni Houthis have threatened to disrupt oil supply by indicating the closure of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. Additionally, the Houthis fired missiles towards Saudi Arabia’s southern region yesterday, which were intercepted and destroyed by the country’s air defense system.
It is noteworthy that the Houthis have accused Saudi Arabia of attacking Sanaa International Airport and have threatened to target key Saudi infrastructure.
