ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): A recent audit of the postal department has uncovered a significant financial discrepancy of 63 billion rupees. The audit report highlights financial irregularities within the postal sector, managed by the Ministry of Communications, during the fiscal year 2024-25.
According to the report, a substantial amount of 42 billion rupees is involved in five cases of illegal bank account management, associated with unauthorized handling of accounts with commercial banks.
Additionally, 12 major discrepancies under various headings, amounting to over 20 billion rupees, have been identified. The report also cites two cases of receivables and uncollected amounts, valued at over one billion rupees.
