MOSCOW (Lord Media): During a military training exercise in Russia, a powerful rotary machine gun went out of control, forcing nearby personnel to duck for cover and flee to safety. The incident’s video is rapidly going viral on social media, with users labeling it a military training failure. According to the video, it was a training exercise by a Russian mobile fire group using a YakB-12.7 four-barrel rotary machine gun, originally designed for attack helicopters.
The video shows a soldier standing behind the machine gun while another was nearby. As firing commenced, the machine gun became uncontrollable due to severe recoil, spinning around its axis. Soldiers attempted to regain control but were unsuccessful.
During the continuous firing, personnel ducked for safety and ran in different directions. Eventually, another soldier managed to stop the machine gun. The video also shows a soldier attempting to touch the gun’s barrel but quickly withdrawing his hand as it was hot.
