BANGKOK (Lord Media): A fire at a bar in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, has claimed the lives of at least 27 people, confirmed Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night in a bar located in the capital. Speaking to the media at the scene, the Prime Minister stated that the bodies of 27 individuals have been recovered, while some injured have been transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The Prime Minister further explained that musicians present at the bar and restaurant in the suburbs of Bangkok reported seeing smoke rising from a circuit breaker near the stage, followed by a power outage and an explosion. He noted that most people, in a state of panic, ran towards restrooms at the back of the building, which had no exit.
Thai police stated in a social media release that the fire has been brought under control. Authorities have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation into the incident.
