ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The Senate Standing Committee has unanimously approved the Members of Parliament Salaries and Allowances Amendment Bill 2026, recommending the issuance of blue passports to the children of parliamentarians.
The bill was approved during a meeting of the Committee on Interior, chaired by Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman. Senator Abdul Qadir, who presented the bill, stated that children of parliamentarians under the age of 28 should be issued blue passports.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry suggested sending the bill to the cabinet. However, Senator Abdul Qadir argued that the bill had no connection with the cabinet, leading to its unanimous approval. Talal Chaudhry noted that matters concerning blue and diplomatic passports affect passport rankings.
