LHC summons CPO Faisalabad over flawed investigation

LAHORE (Lord Media): The Lahore High Court expressed strong displeasure over the flawed investigation in a case involving the blackmailing of a woman through an obscene video and summoned the CPO Faisalabad to appear in person.

Justice Amjad Rafiq presided over the hearing, expressing anger at the absence of the investigating officer, stating that neither effective investigation was conducted nor forensic evidence collected in such a sensitive case.

The court questioned why a forensic analysis was not conducted despite serious allegations and why basic investigative requirements were not met.

The accused’s lawyer, Irfan Kalar, informed the court that his client had no connection to the incident and was implicated due to a name similarity. The lawyer dismissed the allegations as baseless, arguing that the prosecution lacked solid evidence.

The court, noting the flawed investigation and the investigating officer’s absence, summoned the CPO Faisalabad and adjourned the hearing until July 21.
