Ebola outbreak claims 600 lives in Congo

KINSHASA (Lord Media): The Ebola virus has claimed 600 lives in Congo, according to new figures from the World Health Organization. The outbreak in eastern Congo has resulted in the confirmed deaths of 600 individuals.

Just three days ago, reports indicated that 500 people had died from the outbreak in central and eastern Africa, with 1,759 individuals affected. The outbreak began in May in Congo, impacting four provinces, with Ituri being the most affected.

In neighboring Uganda, two people have also succumbed to the virus. There is currently no vaccine or specific treatment available for the existing virus strain. According to WHO, clinical trials for vaccines and treatments have commenced in Bunia, eastern Congo.
