Japanese woman arrested for allegedly sewing housemate’s lips shut

TOKYO (Lord Media): Japanese police have arrested a woman accused of sewing her housemate’s lips with a needle and thread. The 42-year-old victim escaped from their home in Koga city, reaching a nearby store where she drew attention by writing ‘Please help me’ on a piece of paper.

Police in Japan’s eastern Ibaraki province have detained 49-year-old Masaye Sakurai on suspicion of assault. According to the police, Sakurai was living with the victim at the time of the incident, which allegedly occurred on June 29.

Authorities are conducting further investigations into the case, including whether a third person resided in the house. According to Japan’s national broadcaster, the injured woman informed the police that ‘the suspect became angry over a dispute and sewed my lips shut.’
