ANKARA (Lord Media): The United Kingdom and Türkiye on Wednesday signed a new security and defence partnership agreement on the sidelines of the NATO summit, marking a significant step in strengthening their strategic relationship, according to international media reports.
A joint statement issued by the two countries said the agreement reflects their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in response to the evolving security environment across the Euro-Atlantic region.
Under the partnership, the two NATO allies will establish new political and military consultation mechanisms on security and defence policy to deepen bilateral coordination.
The agreement identifies key areas of cooperation, including defence strategy, military collaboration, the defence industry and technology, cybersecurity, and efforts to counter hybrid threats.
The joint statement said the United Kingdom and Türkiye play a unique and indispensable role in Euro-Atlantic security and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation within NATO, increasing defence spending and enhancing capabilities required by the alliance to address emerging security challenges.
