Lahore court extends remand of suspects in foreign women abduction case

Lahore (Lord Media): A Lahore court heard the case of the alleged abduction and rape of two foreign women, with four suspects, including Raza Dar, presented after their physical remand ended. The prosecution informed the court that DNA and fingerprint tests of the suspects have been conducted, and an extension in remand is needed for further evidence recovery.

According to the prosecutor, the police need to recover a vehicle, laptop, cash, and weapons allegedly used by the suspects. Advocate Salman Shahid, representing the suspects, opposed the extension, arguing that his clients are not linked to the alleged crimes and that the matter pertains to a cryptocurrency dispute.

The lawyer stated that the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The court extended the suspects’ physical remand by five days, ordering them to be presented again on July 13.

The alleged abduction of two women from European countries, the Netherlands and Spain, occurred on June 29 in Lahore, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, including a relative of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
