US launches major strikes on Iran after Hormuz tensions

Washington (Lord Media): The United States has launched military strikes against multiple targets in Iran, following alleged attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the U.S. Central Command, these actions were a response to Iran’s purported aggression.

In a statement on X, the U.S. Central Command stated that American forces conducted powerful strikes against Iran to counter the targeting of commercial vessels in international waterways.

U.S. officials reported that the strikes targeted Iran’s air defense systems, radars, coastal surveillance systems, surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, drone launch sites, and small boats of the Revolutionary Guards.

Iran confirmed the U.S. strikes, labeling them as aggression and terrorism, and warned of a decisive response. The Iranian military stated that any foreign interference in the Strait of Hormuz would not be tolerated.

According to Iranian state media, explosions were heard in the southern coastal city of Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Qeshm Island, with flames and black smoke seen rising from Bandar Abbas.

The U.S. strikes occurred as President Donald Trump attended a NATO summit in Turkiye, amid escalating tensions in the region that have raised concerns of a broader regional conflict.
