Islamabad (Lord Media): The next round of negotiations between the United States and Iran for a permanent ceasefire is expected within two weeks. Sources cited by Al Arabiya indicate that discussions will focus on lifting global sanctions on Iran and its nuclear program.
On June 22, indirect talks were held in Switzerland, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, where both countries agreed on a roadmap to progress towards an agreement within 60 days. According to Saudi Arabia’s state news channel, the next round is scheduled for July 11 in Islamabad.
A reputable English newspaper in Pakistan reported through diplomatic sources that the technical talks are likely to take place in Islamabad or Switzerland, with Islamabad being the more probable venue.
Senior journalist Kamran Yousaf has reported that Iranian leadership values Islamabad as a negotiation venue due to Pakistan’s strong relations with Iran and the Gulf states.
