Gilgit (Lord Media): Newly elected Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain Advocate, has taken the oath of office. The oath was administered by Governor Gilgit-Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Federal Minister Amir Maqam.
In his address, Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate stated that on June 7, 2026, the PPP emerged as the largest political party in Gilgit-Baltistan. He highlighted the significant role played by youth and women in the elections, and acknowledged the heavy mandate given by the public, entrusting the PPP with major responsibilities.
He expressed gratitude to all those who trusted the PPP, despite the party not being in power at the center. He also thanked the leadership of his party and the PML-N for giving the PPP the opportunity to form the government.
Amjad Hussain Advocate emphasized the importance of Gilgit-Baltistan’s unique climate and announced plans to provide land and air travel facilities for the world. He expressed his commitment to making Gilgit-Baltistan a model province of Pakistan and meeting the expectations of the people.
