Tehran (Lord Media): Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, emphasized that sustainable peace in Lebanon cannot be achieved without acknowledging Iran’s regional role. He stated that Iran’s contribution is crucial for stability in the region.
According to Iranian media, Ghalibaf made these remarks during a meeting in Tehran with senior Hezbollah leader Mohammad Fneish, who was in the city to attend the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Lebanon’s current political and security situation, recent regional developments, and Iran-Lebanon relations.
Ghalibaf reiterated that Iran has consistently supported stability, peace, and resistance forces in the region, and its role in achieving lasting peace in Lebanon cannot be overlooked.
Iranian media also reported that Ghalibaf revealed Lebanon’s situation was a key topic in pre-agreement talks between Iran and the United States.
He stressed that the resolution of regional issues is possible only through dialogue, regional cooperation, and mutual respect, and Lebanon’s stability should be linked to the peace of the entire Middle East.
Political analysts note that Ghalibaf’s statement comes amid ongoing diplomatic activities involving Iran, the United States, Lebanon, and Israel, with discussions on future political and security arrangements in the region taking place at various levels.
