Negombo (Lord Media): A violent clash between two groups in Sri Lanka’s Negombo prison resulted in the death of 19 inmates and left over 100 injured on Sunday.
According to an international news agency, the situation was brought under control by Sunday night, but clashes resumed on Monday. The injured were immediately taken to Negombo hospital, while those with severe injuries are being transferred to the capital, Colombo.
Sri Lankan authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the causes of the unrest.
