Mumbai (Lord Media): Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has approached the Bombay High Court against fake AI videos, altered images, and other unauthorized digital content. Zinta’s petition claims that deepfake videos and images using her likeness are being produced through artificial intelligence, potentially harming her reputation.
The actress has appealed to the court to immediately remove all controversial content created using her name and identity from social media and online platforms and to impose a ban on future publication of such material.
The petition was presented before Justice Madhav Jamdar, who, after hearing initial arguments, instructed the concerned parties and online platforms to establish a joint mechanism for removing the disputed content. The case is scheduled for further hearing on July 6.
It is noteworthy that deepfake technology uses artificial intelligence to create videos, images, or audio that depict individuals performing actions or speaking words that never occurred in reality.
