Islamabad (Lord Media): President Asif Ali Zardari has lauded the effective representation of women diplomats on international forums, appreciating their contributions. He stated that women diplomats play a pivotal role in promoting peace, dialogue, and cooperation.
President Zardari highlighted Pakistan’s tradition of distinguished diplomatic services by women, citing Begum Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan and Shaista Ikramullah as examples who enhanced Pakistan’s prestige globally.
He further noted that the late Benazir Bhutto strengthened Pakistan’s international relations, and in the face of current global challenges, the responsibilities of women diplomats have become even more crucial.
Zardari emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan provides equal rights to women and men, and Pakistani women are holding significant positions in international organizations.
The President expressed his commitment to fostering serious and meaningful relations with the world, with women diplomats playing a vital role in this endeavor.
