Islamabad (Lord Media): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held a significant meeting discussing Pak-Iran relations, regional security, and recent peace developments.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the reduction in regional tensions and agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation. On this occasion, Mohsin Naqvi congratulated his Iranian counterpart on the joint declaration made in Bergenstock, Switzerland.
Naqvi stated that Pakistan has always desired peace and stability in the region and the world, and will continue its efforts for lasting peace in the Middle East. He expressed hope that the recent peace agreement would have positive and far-reaching effects on the region.
The Iranian Interior Minister thanked Pakistan for his visit and announced plans for a detailed visit to Pakistan soon. The meeting also agreed on increasing cooperation in security, counter-terrorism, cyber security, and immigration.
The Iranian Interior Minister appreciated Pakistan’s role in Iran-U.S. negotiations and the support of the Pakistani people. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
