Islamabad (Lord Media): The Superintendent of Adiala Jail has termed the statement regarding non-provision of power of attorney for PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi as misleading in a response submitted to the Islamabad High Court.
The Superintendent, while submitting the response to the Deputy Registrar Judicial, stated that lawyer Salman Safdar misled the court by claiming that the power of attorney documents were not signed.
The response further stated that the documents were ready for collection after being signed on June 16, but the lawyer deliberately did not collect them. Despite this, he was informed via text message, with WhatsApp screenshots also submitted.
This issue arose in the context of contempt of court petitions filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi against the Superintendent of Adiala Jail. The court had ordered the signing of power of attorney documents in the 190 million pounds case.
