Islamabad (Lord Media): The government has decided to end cash payments at passport offices nationwide starting July 1. Passport fees will now only be payable digitally via QR codes.

In a meeting chaired by the Director General of Immigration and Passports, several decisions were made to improve services at passport offices. It was decided that fees would no longer be collected in cash, and citizens will pay passport fees through QR codes.

Officials stated that the aim of this initiative is to ensure transparency in financial transactions and simplify the process of submitting passport fees.

The meeting also decided to introduce modern facilities to reduce crowding at passport offices and improve service speed.

There was also an agreement to implement a regular monitoring system to enhance the performance of passport offices, ensuring timely and quality services for the public.
