TTP militant arrested in Karachi raid

Karachi (Lord Media): The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and a federal intelligence agency have arrested a highly wanted terrorist, Salman alias Abu Huraira, of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Maulvi Mukhlis group in a joint operation. A suicide jacket, photographs, and maps of sensitive locations were recovered from his possession.

According to CTD officials, the arrested suspect Salman was part of a sleeper cell trained by Maulvi Mukhlis Yar and was planning a suicide attack in Karachi. He was apprehended after an encounter.

Some of Salman’s associates have previously been involved in terrorist activities, including suicide attacks on the Quetta FC and Dera Ismail Khan police training center.

The arrested terrorist had received commando training for suicide attacks in Afghanistan and had come to Karachi for terrorist activities. CTD and intelligence agency teams are conducting raids to arrest his other accomplices and facilitators.

Two cases have been registered against the arrested suspect at the CTD police station, and interrogation is ongoing, with further revelations expected.
