New Delhi (Lord Media): Allegations against the BJP government in India for targeting Muslim religious and cultural identity under a Hindutva agenda have intensified. According to the Indian publication Muslim Mirror, a notice has been issued to demolish the nearly thousand-year-old historic Ganj-e-Shaheedan Mosque located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The report claims that over the past 45 days, more than 23 mosques, madrasas, Eidgahs, and shrines have been demolished, with at least 20 Muslim religious sites targeted since May.
Muslim Mirror states that under Hindutva policies, numerous historic religious sites, ranging from the thousand-year-old mosque to a two-hundred-year-old shrine, have been targeted.
Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep concern over reports regarding the Ganj-e-Shaheedan Mosque, urging India to ensure the protection of minority rights and shared cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, the human rights organization Justice for All has also voiced concerns over the demolition and threats to historic Muslim religious sites in India.
