Peshawar (Lord Media): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has linked the federal grant to a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan. KP Information Minister Shafi Jan stated in a post-budget press conference that they will not allow any cuts until a meeting with the PTI founder takes place. He mentioned that the PTI founder’s family has not met him for seven months, and a meeting should be arranged with the KP Chief Minister.
KP Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam, speaking on Geo News’ program ‘Naya Pakistan’, said that no commitment was made to provide grants to the federation in the NEC meeting. He asserted that no grant will be filed until a meeting with Imran Khan occurs.
The KP Chief Minister emphasized that providing funds to the federation is difficult without a meeting with the PTI founder, citing last year’s IMF memorandum, which was signed only after a meeting and approval from the founder.
Participating in the program, PML-N leader and Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah stated that during the NEC meeting, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb briefed that all provinces agreed to provide funds to the federation for strategic purposes.
