Bürgenstock (Lord Media): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have arrived in Switzerland to participate in the Iran-U.S. talks. These negotiations are set to take place in Bürgenstock on June 21, 2026, marking the first formal contact following the signing of a memorandum of understanding in Islamabad on June 17.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, high-level delegations from Iran, Qatar, and the U.S. will also be participating in the talks. Pakistan will continue to play its role in implementing the agreements. The Prime Minister is expected to meet with participating delegations to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to negotiations and sustainable peace.
Meanwhile, a high-level Iranian delegation, led by Baqer Qalibaf, has also arrived in Switzerland, and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is present as well.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held significant meetings in Iran, discussing the upcoming talks in Switzerland. Naqvi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, discussing Pakistan’s efforts to reduce regional tensions.
