Islamabad (Lord Media): PTI member Aamir Dogar praised the government’s efforts to reduce petroleum product prices during a National Assembly session, emphasizing the need to lower the petroleum levy for further public relief.
Dogar proposed reducing the telecom advance tax from 15% to 8%, stating that telecom companies should not forcibly acquire property through legislation.
He called for the abolition of overall agriculture tax, restoration of tax exemptions for university faculty, reinstatement of medical allowances for federal employees and pensioners, and a 15% salary increase for government employees.
Dogar further suggested increasing funds for the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway and completing the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline.
Shehbaz Sharif announced a reduction in petrol prices by 74 rupees and diesel by 67 rupees, with the levy on petrol and diesel averaging below 80 rupees.
