Islamabad (Lord Media): Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Bilal Azhar Kayani announced that 3.5 million shopkeepers will be included in the tax net this fiscal year. While discussing the federal budget for 2026-27 in the National Assembly, he stated that this measure aims to strengthen the national economy and ensure comprehensive development.
The minister further mentioned that registered traders will be given a green plate by the Federal Board of Revenue, and their audits will be limited under normal circumstances.
He emphasized that the purpose of this step is to incorporate shopkeepers into the tax net and work towards economic improvement.
