PM announces big fuel price cut

Islamabad (Lord Media): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a historic reduction in petroleum product prices, stating that petrol prices will decrease by 74 rupees per liter and diesel by 67 rupees per liter.

Following this reduction, the new price of petrol will be 299 rupees per liter and diesel will be 311 rupees per liter.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, this decision was made due to economic improvements in the region and a decrease in global oil prices, with the benefits being immediately passed on to the public. Shehbaz Sharif expressed his understanding of the public’s difficulties and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to assist them.

He further stated that the government has provided relief to the public by utilizing 129 billion rupees saved through the development budget and austerity measures. He praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts for peace and stability in the region and assured that any further decreases in global oil prices would be transferred to the public.

The Prime Minister made this announcement during a speech in the National Assembly, highlighting that effective planning during the energy crisis has helped shield the public from hardships.
