San Francisco (Lord Media): Austria showcased an impressive performance in the FIFA World Cup, defeating newcomers Jordan 3-1. This victory marks Austria’s first World Cup win since 1990.
In this thrilling match, both teams played aggressively, but Austria secured the lead in the final moments. The first goal was scored by Austria’s Romano Schmid in the 21st minute. Jordan, however, did not lose hope and equalized the match five minutes into the second half with a stunning goal by Ali Alwan.
Austria’s Marko Arnautovic scored at one point, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to a handball. However, in the 76th minute, an unfortunate own goal by Jordan’s defender Yazan Alarab restored Austria’s lead.
