Nawaz urges peaceful talks in AJK

Islamabad (Lord Media): PML-N President Nawaz Sharif expressed concern over the political and administrative situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, urging the Kashmiri people to maintain their ideological and intellectual ties with Pakistan, remain peaceful, and end sit-ins to engage in meaningful dialogue.

The meeting, chaired by Nawaz Sharif, was attended by PML-N AJK and senior leadership. He stated that PML-N holds a clear stance on the Kashmir issue, advocating for the right to self-determination for the people of occupied Kashmir according to UN resolutions.

During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif emphasized that the country belongs to all, and struggles for public rights should be conducted within the constitutional framework. PML-N will collaborate with all democratic forces to play its role.

He expressed hope that the people of AJK, its government, and the Pakistani government will work together with all political parties to restore peace. Nawaz Sharif praised the achievements of the Pakistani government and defense institutions in the current circumstances.

The meeting expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in recent AJK events and offered prayers for the deceased. The services of Engineer Amir Maqam in effectively running the election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK were also appreciated.
