Islamabad (Lord Media): Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed anticipation for the expected signing ceremony of the Iran-US agreement in Geneva. In a statement on social media platform X, Dar welcomed the understanding reached between the US and Iran, calling it a triumph of diplomacy.
He further stated that as a result of this agreement, Iran’s 24 billion U.S. dollars of frozen assets will be released, while the US will release 12 billion U.S. dollars of Iran’s assets prior to the negotiations.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Pakistan looks forward to the expected signing ceremony on June 19 in Geneva and is committed to promoting peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.
He praised the peaceful and negotiated approach of the US and Iran, acknowledging the role of the United Nations and global partners. Additionally, he commended the diplomatic efforts of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, and Egypt.
Ishaq Dar emphasized that this peace agreement is a positive and encouraging development for developing countries, paving the way for lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
