Washington (Lord Media): U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has taken a firm stance against India regarding the deaths of Indian sailors, stating that ships in the Strait of Hormuz must comply with U.S. directives. In a conversation with a senior Indian diplomat, he made it clear that any illegal shipments and sanctions violations in the region will not be tolerated.
Rubio emphasized that vessels navigating the sensitive waters of Hormuz must adhere to U.S. instructions, and stringent measures will be taken to prevent any suspicious activities.
The U.S. has rejected India’s protest over the deaths of three Indian sailors. American officials maintain that operations in the region are in accordance with international laws and that India’s concerns are not acceptable.
The U.S. Secretary of State informed the Indian diplomatic representative that monitoring maritime routes and enforcing sanctions are essential under the current circumstances to prevent illegal shipments and potential threats.
It is noteworthy that an oil tanker with an Indian crew was targeted near the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf of Oman by U.S. attacks, resulting in the deaths of three Indian sailors, while the remaining 21 were safely rescued by the Omani Coast Guard. Following the incident, India summoned the U.S. diplomat to lodge a strong protest.
