Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that Pakistan was closer than ever to reaching a peace agreement, expressing confidence that a historic deal could be finalized within the next 24 hours.

In a statement, the prime minister said preparations were underway for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after its finalization, to be followed by technical-level talks next week aimed at implementing the agreement.

“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before,” Shehbaz said, adding that the expected agreement would mark a significant step toward regional stability and long-term peace.

The prime minister thanked the governments of the United States and Iran for their continued commitment during the negotiations and acknowledged the support extended by regional countries throughout the process.

“We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during the negotiations, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in the region for their support,” he said.

Shehbaz expressed optimism that the agreement would pave the way for lasting peace and strengthen prospects for cooperation and stability in the region.

“We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace,” he added.
