Midland (Lord Media): A fugitive was killed after a 30-hour standoff with police in Midland, Texas. The 45-year-old suspect, Meta Villarreal, barricaded himself in an empty building after opening fire. He was found dead following an exchange of gunfire.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Villarreal was wanted for attempting to murder a police officer, yet he fired at police during the standoff.
A spokesperson from Midland Memorial Hospital reported that at least nine people injured in the shooting were taken to the hospital, while another injured individual was admitted to a different hospital in the city.
