Charges added in Jhang student’s abduction case

Jhang (Lord Media): Charges of abduction and sexual assault have been added to the case of a 17-year-old student’s alleged kidnapping and murder in Jhang following revelations by the main suspect. The initial post-mortem report did not find evidence of sexual assault, but police included these charges after new disclosures during the investigation.

A joint investigation team of eight members has been formed on the orders of the Punjab IG to probe the case. The JIT is led by the SP Investigation and includes three DSPs and SHOs from different police stations. This committee will review the case’s progress on a daily basis.

Police sources indicate that the charges of assault were added based on the suspect’s revelations and evidence gathered during the investigation. A special team from Lahore has also arrived in Jhang to record the suspects’ statements. The suspects will be presented before the area magistrate today for physical remand.
