Customs arrest suspect in 11 crore rupee fraud

Lahore (Lord Media): Pakistan Customs has arrested a suspect involved in a fraud worth 116.5 million rupees under the Export Facilitation Scheme. Officials stated that Idrees Textile Mills illegally sold duty-free imported cotton, with an audit revealing that 544,000 kilograms of imported cotton were missing from stock, valued at over 470 million rupees, with 116.5 million rupees due.

According to Pakistan Customs, an FIR has been registered against the owners, directors, and others involved under the Customs Act 1969. During a successful raid in Lahore, the suspect Kashif Imran was arrested, accused of assisting in the illegal sale of duty-free imported goods.

Pakistan Customs has emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against the misuse of trade facilities and the protection of national revenue, stating that stringent legal actions will continue against those involved in revenue fraud.
