Bangladesh defeats Australia in historic ODI series

Dhaka (Lord Media): Bangladesh made history by defeating Australia for the first time in a One Day International (ODI) series. The Bengal Tigers clinched a 5-wicket victory in the rain-affected second ODI match.

Australia scored 187 runs in 42 overs before play was halted due to rain. Labuschagne remained unbeaten with 55 runs, while Bartlett contributed 52 runs. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman each took 3 wickets.

Under the Duckworth-Lewis method, Bangladesh was set a target of 192 runs in 41 overs, which they achieved in just 35 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Soumya Sarkar and Najmul Hossain Shanto both scored 42 runs, while Towhid Hridoy remained not out with 40 runs.

This marks Bangladesh’s third overall ODI victory against Australia and the first time they have won an ODI series against them. The final match of the series is scheduled for June 14.
