Toronto (Lord Media): Former Air Canada captain Geoffrey Wall has been arrested in Canada for allegedly operating hundreds of flights without a proper pilot license for nearly 17 years. Peel Regional Police have charged Wall with fraud and using forged documents.
According to the police, Geoffrey Wall flew over 900 domestic and international flights between 2009 and 2025 using a fake license. He held a general commercial pilot license but lacked the ‘Airline Transport Pilot License’ required for captaining large aircraft.
Peel Regional Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah stated that this case has undermined public trust and safety, as the accused endangered millions of passengers’ lives. The former pilot now faces charges of fraud and public endangerment.
Air Canada stated that all pilots undergo training every six months, where their skills are assessed. Geoffrey Wall always passed and was immediately removed from duty when Air Canada discovered his deception. The company reviewed other pilots’ records and found no similar cases.
Flight Safety Foundation head Hassan Shahidi called this case a unique and rare incident globally. He mentioned that if the allegations are proven, it represents a failure in the license verification system.
This case is now seen as a significant test of Canada’s aviation safety, licensing process, and regulatory oversight system, as the court awaits the verdict on the charges.
