Iran-US tensions to impact economy till next year

Islamabad (Lord Media): Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that even if the Iran-US tensions subside, their economic impact will persist until next year. He expressed these views during a Senate session chaired by Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, discussing the current economic situation and announcing that an economic survey will be presented tomorrow, revealing significant facts.

The finance minister further noted that the Middle East situation has affected the world, and he hopes Pakistan’s leadership will succeed in resolving the issue. He revealed that 129 billion U.S. dollars in subsidies were provided in the first three weeks, which faced criticism, and a decision was made to target these subsidies to specific groups.

Senator Aurangzeb acknowledged the role of provincial governments in the regional situation, thanking the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and its Chief Minister for participating in the EAC. He also mentioned that the increase in FBR’s tax revenues is a sign of improvement.
