China invites foreign firms to deepen cooperation, expand investment

China has welcomed greater cooperation from foreign businesses, including Jardine Matheson, and expressed readiness to further expand mutually beneficial economic ties, according to state media reports.

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting in Beijing with Ben Keswick, Executive Chairman of Jardine Matheson.

He said that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030), China will continue to expand high-standard opening up and promote high-quality development, creating broader market opportunities for foreign enterprises.

The Vice Premier added that more international companies are encouraged to deepen cooperation with China, participate in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and achieve win-win outcomes through enhanced collaboration.

Ben Keswick said Jardine Matheson is confident in China’s long-term development prospects and will continue to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market, increase investment, and contribute to stable and healthy economic and trade relations between China and the United Kingdom.
