President of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Annalena Baerbock is scheduled to visit China from April 29 to 30, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by a foreign ministry spokesperson, who confirmed that the visit is taking place at the invitation of Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister.
During the two-day visit, Baerbock is expected to hold discussions with senior Chinese officials on matters related to multilateral cooperation and global governance, although further details of the agenda were not immediately disclosed.
The visit comes as China continues its diplomatic engagement with international organisations and senior UN leadership amid evolving global political and economic developments.
The foreign ministry said the engagement reflects ongoing communication between China and the United Nations system at a high level.
