Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem on Monday said the group rejects any direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, warning that Lebanese authorities would be making a “grave mistake,” according to Al-Manar television.
In remarks reported by the outlet, Qassem reiterated Hezbollah’s long-standing position against direct diplomatic engagement with Israel, stressing that such talks would undermine Lebanon’s political stance amid ongoing regional tensions.
He also cautioned the Lebanese leadership against pursuing what he described as a politically and strategically flawed approach at a sensitive time for the country.
The statement comes as discussions continue within Lebanon over how to handle border tensions and security concerns along the southern frontier with Israel.
State-affiliated media did not immediately provide further details on any official government response to Qassem’s remarks.
