Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran has no intention of aggression against any country and is only exercising its “legal right to self-defence,” according to international media reports.
In his recent remarks, the Iranian president emphasized that Tehran’s core policy is aimed at ensuring peace, stability and security in the region, adding that Iran does not seek to escalate conflicts under any circumstances.
He stressed that Iran neither initiated any war nor provoked any confrontation, insisting that its current actions are strictly within the framework of self-defence.
President Pezeshkian also criticized the US administration, saying that no country has the right to deprive the Iranian people of their fundamental rights or decide whether Iran can benefit from its nuclear rights. His comments were widely reported by international outlets including Reuters and Al Jazeera.
He further claimed that Iran’s adversaries have failed to achieve their objectives, alleging that infrastructure, schools and hospitals were targeted during periods of conflict. He also referred to hostile rhetoric about pushing Iran back to the “Stone Age,” saying such statements reflect the true intentions of Iran’s opponents.
Analysts say the statement comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, even as diplomatic efforts continue. Observers note that Tehran appears to be positioning itself as acting in a defensive posture in an effort to gain international support amid ongoing geopolitical pressure.
